Plant life : Heidi Norton

Plant Life is like Thug Life. Minus the drugs sex and money. and glocks.
but my philodendron "Philly" is the ultimate G. and Heidi Norton, case yal didn't know is a serious VIP.
She is the Lebron James of plant based artistry.
aside from its visually flooring effects, her work is a complex expression of preservation, reaction, time, impermanence, change and all those sticky issues that are hard to talk about. All things I, myself, am obsessed with.
Shes having a show in San Francisco in November. I will indeed be there buying stuff.

S90

In days which seem to fall miles short of economic prosperity (at least i speak for myself at present), Its absolutely the definition of inspiring to come across gems like these photos taken by Heather Micheals on her canon S90. The tool does not the artist make. (i donno if yoda was the first one to say that or what but its pretty sweet little pearl) .
Heather, today your are my sunshine :)

Jessica Niello. Shes like a little invisible creature leaving beautiful traces of her presence all over san francisco . I've seen her work at all of my favorite spots all around the city over the course of the last 6 months or so. Bar tartine, Parish Trust, Flour and Water, BellJar, everywhere! Her work is pure magic and i cant wait til the day i have my very own Jessica Niello piece hanging in my place.

So Nice I'll Say It Twice: Nice.

Finally the joyous union of the 2 atheistics closest to my heart have spawned pure magic. G.I.-joe utility meets vagabond-rogue-woodsman plus a bit of free spirited hippie love embodied in some shroomy acidesque lightshow. im salivating. I wasnt alive in 69 but something tells me i have the opportunity to relive it with some modern frill.

"Nice Collective's Joe Haller and Ian Hannula brought friends, artists, stylists and models on a camping trip (aka the Gathering) in Northern California "to organically capture imagery of the season's clothing and product through real experience rather than art direction." Among the members of the experimental venture, digital artist Andrew Jones' and photographer Spencer Hansen's combined talents led to the incredible footage that Joe edited into a short video."

WATER WEEK

I hereby declare this week on I.Feel.Fine. water week.

it all started with a publication you might know of; the surfer's journal.
the latest issue happens to contain one of the most inspiring feature stories i've read in a lonnnngggg time. The story takes place at our very own Ocean Beach, its about the infamous beach queen and her utterly unstoppable love of all things land and water. The story is told by one of our own as well, Jaimal Yogis, and documented in perfection by Tommy Bensko.

This article must be read. not very often do you get a good chuckle and also get your heart strings yanked on in one foul swoop. This is an especially good one for those of us who walk these shores everyday.

I can personally recall specific moments when the ocean and I were nothing more than the same body. that feeling is the one thing that has kept me tied to the earth. If ever there was a reason for filling up my pours with drugs, smoke, or any other form of gluttony, its because i was missing the one thing that is me: the salt. the water.

hence an entire week of creative energy devoted to the only thing i worship religiously: le ocean

eden & eden

A few weeks ago I was on a mission with close friends to find those parrots that flock about the trees of telegraph hill. we hurried around north beach to grab a bite, then suddenly my eyes fell upon a haven for all things beautifully designed. I rushed inside to have a closer look, It was just as I had suspected from outside on the street : a space impeccably furnished, styled and arranged with just the right amount of sophistication and quark. for a brief moment I contemplated staying there forever.

In a few moments I was then greeted by a good looking brit, also possessing a nice balance between disheveled and put together. He explained to me that he had set up the shop with his sister, I then asked him if I could move in too. okay no I didn't, but I should have.

I grabbed a card, we rushed off to find the parrots.

Yesterday evening I checked out the site and realized then why the shop, the boy, the splendid goodies, had such a familiar air to them....it was because my good friend and fellow creative crusader Jen Siska had photographed the store quite sometime ago and her images had been floating around in my subconscious ever since.

case closed....I’ll take the giant zipper necklace please.

the man behind the plan

Photographer, graphic guru, brand master, audio connoisseur, lyrical genius and overall gentle human, Frank Paletta is my mentor and friend.

Some know him in context such as this: "during the past decade he has been seen fighting deep withing the trenches to uplhold the brand loyalty for names such as Nike, Coke, Adidas, Smith, Vasque, Sony and countless starts ups.."

I know him these contexts: the man behind the conception of design movements, intellectual revolutions and agencies like PAXX, MADERA GLOBAL, and NYC (new young creatives).

Never have i encounter such a driven, passionate dope mother F***er.
